I think it's interesting how some of us seem to have the same problem at the same times. Or is it just that there are so many of us on the net, that everybody has some problem at every time, like they way 2 people on the street have the same birthday. Any of you who read my whiney recent posts know my '66 squareback problems: 1. wobble and wanderlust 2. hi-beams don't work, lo-beams do 3. rain gets in either through the vent ducts, windsheild rubber, and/or wiper arm bushings. 4. Ignition key doesn't spring return when you start. #1 is taken care of largely with new shocks, steering damper, tie rod ends, turn front rotors and new disc pads. I need a steering box. Who has a steering box for '66 type III? Does rmmw have one for $300 or so? :-( We are going to try to adjust it. #2 guess what? fuses were corroded. Weird. #3 probably led to #2, but is still a mystery. #4 several people said it couldn't be done. NOBODY gave me encouragement that the '66 switch would be available. So we fabricated a bracket and put in a keyswitch from a 67 beetle. nyaaaa. :-) As to #3... It is not the drain hoses. we blew them out with air. Judging from where the water ends up (on my shin, 3" from my ankle) I believe the water is coming in through the hole of the wiper. We have had a LOT of rain lately. If I fix this, it will stop raining. -- g-r-a-t-e-f-u-l-l-y---[ email:<fishbowl@conservatory.com> ]---l-i-v-i-n-g d-e-a-d-i-c-a-t-e-d---[ http://www.conservatory.com/~fishbowl ]-----l-i-g-h-t The secret source of humor is not joy but sorrow; there is no humor in Heaven. -- Mark Twain
