Distress call...

I was driving the '73 squareback today, and it was running like CRAP!!
(It's had a problem the past few months, which I atributed to a poor
connection on the numbers 1 and 2 injectors...usually it would feel like I
was running on three cylinders, I would pull over and push the plugs in to
make a better contact, then it would smooth out.) Now it sometimes stalls
out of the blue, which felt more like a vaccum problem. So today's
questions:

1) When I pulled the plug on the temp.sensor in the air intake distributor,
the car ran better/smoother/more powerful. Is this a bad sensor? What
happens to the car if I drive it like this until I get a new sensor in?

2) Does anyone have a spare rubber "elbow" that's in good shape? The one
that goes from the air cleaner to the air intake distributor? What about
the rubber piece that goes from the car body into the air cleaner?

3) I know we covered this recently, but has anyone fabricated a new fuel
injection wiring harness? I guess my main problem would be to replace the
connectors on the number one and two injectors...is this going to be a big
problem?

Thanks to everyone in advance. -Mark
