Greetings Type-III friends, I guess I will jump in on the introduction bandwagon! My name is Andrew Goh, 33, single, originally from Singapore, now living in Seattle (past 9 years) and working as an International Sales Administrator for the company that makes the Peterbilt and Kenworth trucks. I am a certified mechanic. I gained the experience when I served National Service in Singapore from the age of 18 to 20. I have not had the experience of dabbling in cars since then. The recent purchase of my daily driver, an outside-red, inside-white, 1971 fuel-injected, auto Fastback has gotten my hands greased up and dirty again! I spotted my beauty when the original Seattle owner posted it for sale on the Internet. Lo and behold, I feel in love with her at first sight! The odometer stopped at 41K, but I guess that it has a little over 100K+ miles on the original everything (engine, fuel injection, interior, body...) I have not had too much of a chance to do a complete overhaul. At this time, I am mainly restoring the small items first, such as cleaning out and restoring the rusted gauges, chrome-painting the wheels, complete brake overhaul, tune-up, etc. I hope to get the body painted to its glorious red in a couple of months. If all goes well, I hope to do a complete engine overhaul within the year. I am still considering the merits of a caburettion or fuel injection and haven't decided yet on which is better for 'Mia Bambino' I hope a don't stir up an emotional debate on the mailing list on which is better....smile...but any advice will be much appreciated. Before I end my intro, Greg, I would like to thank you again for the wonderful opportunity to participate in the mailing list. I am confident that everyone here believes that it has been a great deal of help. So, if you are ever here in Seattle, I'd like to shake your hand, buy you a drink, and chat about the finer things in life...such as VWs, of course! Well, have a good day everyone! Cheers, Andrew
