Hi everyone! I'm new to the list. My name is Paula and I'm from Bezerkeley, California. I'm 26 married w/2 kids. Noah 3y and Grace 6wks. My husband Jon (32) is a Securities Broker/Financial Planner, and I was a securities broker in the Futures Markets before I decided to be a full time mom. I have been a VW fanatic all my life. I owned a '71 transporter for years and loved her, I lost her in a custody battle with my former boyfriend. I recently went looking for a replacement when I ran across this beautiful '70 squareback that I could not pass up, the body is straight no rust, the motor hums(though I don't know too much about it) and the interior is in near perfect condition, the headliner is a little ripped in back. The rubber needs to be replaced on all the doors and windows amongst other things, she's being delivered today so I'm really excited, and a little nervous since I'm going to be doing all the work on her by myself for the first time, starting from scratch, I don't even have any tools yet! My former boyfriend always warned me about T3's - he was a strickly T2 only kind of guy, or at least those where the only ones he knew how to work on. So everything I learned was from him and my transporter. Needless to say I was very excited to find this list. You all sound like a great group. I hope you'll be patient with my T3 newbee questions. By the way I am also interested in a used Bently guide if anyone has an extra, how much would one go for used? Hope to be posting soon!
