Re: where there's smoke...


I had the same thing happen in my fastback, at least superficially.  
There is a littele silver box with "Bosch" stamped on it inder your back 
seat on the opposite side from your battery.  Mine shorted and the 
mentioned symptoms occurred.  Check it out, because it's a cheap do it 
yourself fix.   Good luck.
