You use 2 long bolts in oposite corners and gradually tighten them down, once the cover is almost in place use 2 of the proper bolts in the 2 remaining holes and tighten them down slightly. At this point replace the 2 long bolts with the original ones and then tighten all 4 bolts in turn. As for pushing the sping plate up you can use a trolly jack, but this can cause the whole of the car to rise (if there is no engine in the car), in which case you can use a chain between the base if the trolley jack and the upper shock mounting. Another way is to use coil sping compressors. I have used both of the above methods, and would like advise you to take care with any method you try, as the springs are quite strong.
