I needed to know if it is a repairable ? And I need to speak somebody here who is good with the Fuel Injection and D- Electronic system. I own a '71 SQBK. >> Jody, I've worked with D-Jetronic systems for about the last 15 years (mostly 914's and 411/412's). It's a good system, but the manifold pressure sensor is a weak link on these now very old systems. The problem is mainly a thin brass diaphram inside the sensor which breaks from fatigue. I'll bet I have 10 of these things lying around with busted diaphrams. A few years ago there was a company in NY that was rebuilding these but they have since stopped (not enough volume). Now you have to pay over $200 to get one from places like RMCW. I have been searching for the past few years to find someone who can stamp a duplicate brass diaphram plate so I can fix all the bad ones I have. In the meantime, I buy all the good ones I can at shows. I test them by putting a hose on and "sucking" a vacumn....if it holds, it has a good diaphram. I will take it home, try it and if it doesn't work....I'll put the diaphram in another one. Mike PS: Even the riveted sensors can be taken apart... just drill out the rivets and replace with screws.
