Guys, Isn't nice when you can go to a mechanic with the knowledge that he is not trying to make your bank balance his bank balance. Where are all these guys anyway? And why does the word "Budget" signal to some mechanics "We've got room to get some more out of this guy without him really knowing it!!" Can someone tell me if it is possible to buy the shims/spacers etc (whatever they are called) to fit in the big ends of the rods by themselves. Or are we required to buy new rods which have them included as part of a kit. I can think of one reason why they'd be required as part of a kit and not available separately and this is because of the shape of the old rods (where they are worn) and the new spacers/shims whatever they are call being different shapes. Anyone have some worldly advice here? My apologies to those mechanics reading this who are making a living doing things in the interest of the customers and not in the interest of getting a spa for their new games room. Okay, I feel better now. Signed, People for goodness and niceness in the world. Wayne '72 Notch 73 Square '83 Sigma
