Re: Typical Type III Squareback problems?

The heating system in a Type 3 is better than one in a bug. They are
still not the best in the world but At least one step above a bug.

I have an automatic in my 69 fastback. I love it. It is a little
slow on take off. I cruise pretty easily with the 65-70mph traffic.
I don't do so good on steep hills but I don't usually drop below 50.
I have the stock 1600 with original FI BTW. I would have to agree
with Toby about manual being easier to replace and work on. I have
only found a few places that will work on the Trans. Manuals seem to
     be a dime a dozen.

Comparable with that on the Bug? I can live with that ... o.k., it gets a
little cold now that temperatures are down to -13C (8.6F) (but my Bug is
missing some ducting behind the dash).

But what's your verdict of the automatic - driving wise? It is any good? Or
is it just a worthless piece of machinery compared to other auto
transmissions (apart maybe from repairs)?
