Hi, Thanks for the info on the cam gears. Apparently my worst fear is true, trial and error. The crankgear only comes in one size and the one I got is an original VW. The main problem is going to be finding another camshaft. The (NOS) old style ones with three rivets are hard to come by overhere. I didn't get it from a shop. Someone with the VW club in Holland had the one I got now just lying around. So I can't take the case and fit different sizes. As I expected the size is correlated to the case, or rather to compensate for the 'error' made when align boring the case. The old (and worn) camshaft was a -4 so I guess I should be looking for one of these. Cheers, Theo
