Now that things have calmed down I'll try this again I didn't know they had heated up. > On the birth Certificate for my cars they list extra's and some > codes, they aren't listed as M numbers so can anyone tell me what > they mean?? I don't think M-number have been ruled out yet. I am very familiar with Type 2 M-Codes from the 50s and 60s and those listed for your cars are consistent with those for buses (but not the same). I checked the Type 34 Ghia web page with Type 34 M-Codes. They don't match yours either but they are apparently exclusive to Type 34 and not for Notch, Square and Fastbacks. > 71 Square: extras A02.097 > 65 Notch 045,880 Even the A02 does not rule out M-Codes as Type 2s have some A,B,C type codes in with the 3-digit-numeric codes. Was the "." on one letter and the "," on another? That may be just the preference of the person typing the letter. I've seen part numbers as 311-105-123A, 311 105 123A, and 311.105.123A and it's been the same part. Who has a Type_3_Parts_List? M-Codes are generally listed in the front of the Parts_List because specific parts were made for cars with specific options. For example, dual cylinder master brake cylinders were optional at some point and when ordering a replacement the parts department would need to know if your car came with that option so the correct replacement could be ordered. The M-Code would be listed next to the part number that was appropriate. -Jim Bryant
