Believe it or not your Squareback is supposed to be a little higher in
the front. It's all about keeping things cool. The backwards 'rake' of a
VW (especially Type III) was intended to force air in the the engine
compartment. Thats one of the reasons they're so damb sqirly in the
wind. And it makes them look funny too!

Easy to fix though! Your Type I buddies will be really jealous! On the
Type III front end you can simply spin the trailering arms on their
splined shafts a few notches. It's really not all the hard to do - a few
sodas and half of an afternoon. The instructions on how to do it are in
a Haynes or Similar Type III manual. You can mess with the back too, but
it's a bit more complex.

Just bear in mind the heat issue. Make sure your air flow system is in
good shape and be careful on a hot day!
