Normal shock absorbers should have no effect on ride height, there sole
purpose is to dampen (hence dampers) the oscillations caused by the
springs. The only time this may be different would be when using coil
over shock absorbers, or the aftermarket KYB gas preasurised shock
absorbers that have some preload built into them, which may cause the
ride height to change.
