Head stud question?

I'm interested in how many of you have encountered the problem of the nuts 
coming loose on the VW head studs.  Note that I am not asking about the 
problem of studs pulling out of the case.

I have come across a different type of all-metal nut that is available in 
metric threads and claims to solve the loosening problem in vibrating 
equipment.  I have rebuilt a couple of VW engines where I found one of the 
upper head nuts just lying loose on the top of the head when I removed the 
sheet metal.  What I don't know is whether this is a big enough problem to 
be worth a special solution.

Let me know if you have seen this, and if you think it is a problem.
