I have both oil temp and press but I pay more attn to the press gauge.
On the highway on a hot day at 70mph (3400rpm) its reads a minimum of
34psi. This I use as a calibration point. If it drops 1lb things are gettin
hot At 2lbs lower I slow up and let things cool down.`
The only real time it might get concerned is towing in the summer or
a bad tank of gas. True the calibration point will drift down as the motor ages
and wears but when you drive it a while you'll get the feeling for it.
This is just my way of doing it for the last 125K or so of T3 driving.
