VWMAN18's fingers wore to nubs typing: + + Santa's a great guy, especially when he drops a car underneath the tree! + Actually, it was my folks, but who's checking? That's right, I am now the + proud owner of a 69 VW Squareback. Its just a parts car for the Fastback, + but I still love it. Congrats. Squarebacks seem to be the hot christmas toy this year, and my dear kind mother dropped a '66 squareback under my tree. It was supposed to be a parts car for the '69, but after poking a screwdriver through it, I'm hard-pressed to decide which is a parts car for which.. So I ask the list. The '69 is really complete. All the neat interior bits are there, the seats are almost perfect, the headliner's in beautiful shape.. And it's really rusty. Both heater channels, the right-side pan under the battery (of course), front fenders made of (structural!) bondo, spare tire well opens to the ground, there are some holes into the wheelwells under (like, inside) the rear fenders, the bumpers are rusted through, and the upper front wheelarches have holes into the trunk. But all the difficult little nibbly bits are there in the interior, and all the parts from the fool-injection are in it, as is the Eberspacher.. The '66 has one rusty heater channel, and little holes in all four fenders.. The seats are torn and don't match, same story for the door panels. Headliner's torn, lots, carpet's knackered, floormats are shredded. Bumpers are good, tho'. Points against for lack of gas 'eater and swingaxle instead of IRS, too. Oh, and both engines are in dire need of overhaul (and won't run without one). Both titles are clear and can be registered. Transaxles are both unknown at this time. So, list, I ask.. Which is the parts car, and which is the driver? -- Geoff '66 square, '69 square, '70 beetle If ignorance is bliss, why aren't there more happy people? _.^`'~*-,._.^`'~*-,._.^`'~*-,._.^`'~*-,._.^`'~*-,._.^`'~*-,._.^`'~*-,._.^~*
