Re: 63 starting problem

In reply to LEE THOMAS HEDGES Question: Why (after jumping the starter
terminal) will it start ok and
then not after driving it? Should I be looking at replacing the
ignition or the starter? Or am I missing something completely?!!

I had a simular problem on my 69' squareback. I found that the spade
connector on the starter solinoid was loose and had corrosion on it. Upon
cleaning it I discovered the wire under the protective plastic shroud was
hanging on by a couple of wire strands. I guess depending on the engine
vibrations and/or bumpy ride I was lucky the car started at all.
I'm sure you have already checked out the connector, but in case you
hadn't the might be am easy fix. I got lucky!
Those electrons are funny things...

Good Luck!!!
