Hey there...I have a small Fastback (late model) that I picked up from a small hobby shop here in Columbus (oh)...I'll have to go look at it (it's on the steering column in my Squareback ;) to see who made it but I *think* it is a Viteese(sp?). It's about the size of a Matchbox & it's blue. I bought it used & the guy working didn't have any knowledge of it (didn't seem to care, either! :[]arrrrgh!) On a similar note...Does anyone out there in type 3 land build plastic model cars??? There are some great models of the beetle & Karman Ghia, but so far no one has seen fit to tool up a Type 3. Figures...huh? The only (real) hope on this (having a 1/25th scale type 3) is a man named Ron Cash, of ...Ron Cash Scale Models. He's in northern Ohio & makes replacement bodies in 1/25th out of casting resin. He already has several VW bodies available, like a phantom woody & a delivery beetle, Ghia wagon & some misc. other weird things like that (these were just the ones that stuck out in my head). I spoke with Mr. Cash at a show & asked him if he'd ever been approached about a type 3 body, & he said that he'd had several inquiries about it, but that "it takes a long time to build a master (which it does!) and that he would love to do it, but..." we all know the rest of the story:} I guess I 'll consider this kind of a survey: How many people out there would pay $30.00 or so for a simple type 3 model??? By simple I mean a good looking shelf model with a moderate amount of chassis/engine/suspension detail. As with any business, demand says a lot for product availability, so I'm curious as to what others think of this! Topher '70 squareback about 50 model car projects in my closet;) kinos-emain@ee.net
