I picked up before I bought my first type-III, it's called How to Rebuild
Your Volkswagen Air-Cooled Engine by Tom Wilson,ISBN: 0895862255, covers
types 1-4, has all the head numbers that someone a while back was looking
for, too.
I picked up this book a couple of years ago at Half Price books. It was
about $5, and worth about that. The pictures are good, but you should be
forewarned that the text is filled with MANY serious errors. Frankly, I
never refer to it.
