It will fit, and it will work, but it won't look right because of the 
bulls eye device around the needle and the 'bullet' in the glass.  Also, 
if you have an earlier car (like your 1968), the background will be dark 
rather than grey.  Even then, the ones I make cost $150.00, which I do 
not consider cheap.
