Martin,

Not sure if you've been to the store, but a few of the counter jockeys
are, well lets say, not the most knowledgeable! Sure if its a T1 1776
with dual carbs etc.. they know that stuff, but ask them the questions
about original equipment and you are sometimes answered with a blank
stare or worse contempt and dismissal.

That said, if you talk to Steve or Dave (I think) they are truly helpful
and knowledgeable and should be able to help you. If you ever call
again, ask to speak to someone else if you do not get an exceptable
answer. There is no excuse for disinformation like what you mentioned.

Steve

I took The B. to Scheib today to get her painted with the factory
(non-scheib) color. Pray for me.

Over the years I have upgraded my stock rear lenses with better
used lenses from swap meets. The most recent set are from a newer
batch with '68 DOT markings. These lenses have an internal clear
reflector on either side of the driving light that reflects more light
to the side. It makes a noticeable difference. The brake and turn
signal remains the same.
Our new to us '88 Volvo 240 wagon has a factory fog light that is
very bright, about the same as a the brake lights. I don't think it's
blinding per say, but annoying for sure.

I see dumbasses all the time driving european cars with the front AND rear
foglights on. They are DAMN bright, and are very blinding. *If* youf Porsche
light is the same, I agree with Per. If it is in fact duller, that's fine.

I have taken the bulbs out of the rear fogs in our BMW, so they can't
accidently be turned on. We NEVER get fog thick enough for even front fogs.
I use my headlights just fine.

I do use the front fogs on twisty country roads to light up the sides.

Allan :-)

PerL=> since they are blinded by your fog
=> light, they may not see yous brake lights

All my lights are up to spec and probably brighter than they were when new.
The foglight is just not all that bright, particularly when compared to any
modern car. Please, I think "incredibly stupid" is just a little over the
top, don't you?
