Well I got a little bored yesterday afternoon and went ahead and installed them. While i did use the sealant and I did put the seams horizontal, I have the seam towards the front of the car. Think this will be an issue? I looked in the BIG Bentley (early T3) and it did have a picture of the installation of split boots and from what I can see it looks like they have the seam pointing foward also. A big raspberry to the aftermarket boots, Jim. I got two different boots from my FLVWAPS guy. One was German- went on like a dream. Second was Brazilian, I think and this was way small. I should have left that original side on (it wasn't the one that was leaking but always replace in pairs, you know.) >From: Jim Adney <jadney@vwtype3.org> >So the best thing to do is to use sealant on the seam and keep it >horizontal. >I've heard that a lot of the aftermarket split boots tended to be >slightly small, so that they were hard to seal.
