Yes I know what you mean...the clutch cable has been replaced MANY times...I know that like the back of my hand and its not the cable I know that for sure...by feeling and I checked it already. So I probably just need to get a clutch kit and put a new one on... -----Original Message----- From: Chris Wright [mailto:Christopher.Wright@Sun.COM] Sent: Friday, May 19, 2006 9:04 AM To: type3@vwtype3.org Subject: Re: [T3] Invasion It's not going to be the syncros. If the pedal still feels OK under your foot, then it's almost certainly a problem of the clutch not disengaging. This will be caused by either the release bearing forks cracking on the shaft (quite common), or a problem with the release fork shaft or the clutch itself. If the pedal feels strange, it could be the cable has stretched because it's breaking and is hanging on by a thread so not pulling hard enough to disengage the clutch, or the release bearing forks cracked as above. If the cable is completely broken the pedal obviously goes floppy with little or no spring back. Can you relate to any of these?
