Just sent the pic off to Russ. Here are my thoughts. 1.It is not from  
a heater, for the car never had one. 2. It was not done by an owner  
because it's been in the family it's whole life. Could have been a  
dealer or repair shop thing I suppose. 3. I am leaning towards it  
being a dealer thing, and not factory because as you will see from  
the pics it is a tiny bit off center. Germans wouldn't allow such a  
thing!
