Maybe I missed something, but it sounds like you're jumping the gun. IIRC, your symptoms just sounded like a few strands of your cable broke. This is what typically happens when a clutch cable starts to fail. It effectively lengthens the cable and makes it unable to disengage the clutch, even though everything still LOOKs like it is working. Replacing a clutch cable is a lot less work than pulling an engine. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
