Pretty close with your tyre calculations Matt - I make that about 3000 rpm for your 60mph when on test. I've always used a rough figure of 20mph/1000 rpm in top, so that looks about right. I don't know how much worn engines drop in total power output, but the torque for getting up hills certainly suffers, so it must make a difference. Dave.
