Yeah $50 seems rather steep - you can replace the cheapies quite a few times for that.

Pricing is weird. My local VW shop was at least close at about $7 each, so I bought them there.
The ones I picked up today say "Made in China" on the boxes, though the items themself have no markings other than the part number.
