I am refurbing the single master cylinder on my 65 Notch, and usually since early Type 3 masters are NLA, I rebuild it using the internals of a new 58-64 beetle master cylinder that are cheap and the same bore and have the same internals as a T3 one. I honed the Notch's master, and gave it a lick of paint, and when I pulled the new beetle apart, I was shocked to see that the bore of the master has changed to 17.85mm and the internals were changed to match. This was a brazilian master, and I guess they use a smaller bore to make the brakes feel better on a beetle! Does anyone know where I can get the rubbers to rebuild my 19mm Type 3 master?
