I gather that what you actually saw were some bearings and bushings much like ours, and this got you to thinking that this company could also make our parts if they just knew the right dimensions. It would be useful to know what kinds of quantities they would need to make to make this feasible. I suspect that the bushings would be much easier to tool up for than the bearings. BTW, my sources here tell me that those front axle beam bearings are the style that would be known as "Torrington bearings." They are a needle bearing with a thin outer race, meant to be stiffened by installation in an outer support. I have some used bushings and bearings here. I can measure them, but I'm not sure that would give us the exact specs. I'm sure we can find Peppermint Patties somewhere on the way to Oregon. ;-) -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
