Re: [T3] leaky sunroof on squareback...
<x-flowed>The Bug vert uses around a 1.25" wide by around 2" box section under the
rockers, plus some strengthening in the front inside at the end of the
heater channel, some strengthening across under the rear seat support,
plus some heavy steel wedges at the rear of the door aperture where it
meets the rocker. This is a triangle about 3" high which gets
carpeted. It doesn't get in the way and it adds a huge amount of
stiffening to maintain the door gaps. I had a replica Hebmiller
previously which used all these same strengthening ideas copied from the
original Heb design. The door gaps were a bit tight so we cut the
triangles, jacked up the centre under the rockers, sat several heavy
folks on the bumpers to 'bend' the car across the jacks while the
triangles were re-welded. Result, good door gaps which never varied.
The extra steel explains why the vert is heavier than the saloon version
of the bug.

I have clear vinyl tubing which works as a replacement for these. I just sell
it by the foot, but I'll have to check on the price. It can't be much. Measure
yours and let me know how much you need.
