<x-flowed>Regardless of how the metal part started (cast, forged, billet) there is final machining to size and spec. Forging adds strength to the parts by forcing material to be more dense where it needs to be. Casting reduces the amount of material to be removed by machining, it does nothing at all for strength.

I was kind of worried about that myself, I would think machining the part would be much stronger than casting particularly with bending stresses.
