It's best to avoid trying to replace the seal, because good seals are hard to come by and you have a pretty good chance of breaking the windshield in the process. If you stop at an auto glass shop, they can sell you a caulking cartridge with an appropriate sealant in it. You have to tell them that you need something to seal between the glass and the rubber. Then all you have to do is put a very thin bead all the way around. You must not assume that the water is coming in on the inside the same place that it's making its entry on the outside. This is a very common leak, and my '68 even did this when it was brand new. I think that one just went away on its own, but at this age, yours won't. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
