<x-flowed>Pounding on 2X4 wedged up on the frame does sound better! Likewise, destroying the seat sounds preferrable to destroying the pan! I did get the seatbacks tilted, which gives better access to the rear! I'm cutting up a 2x6 but havn't pounded on it yet. Thanks guys for the help! Mike Fisher

Just to get a different attack angle you might try cutting a piece of 2X4
and fitting it across the inside of the front of the seat frame, paralleling
the front bumper if you know what I mean. Then hammer on another piece of
wood placed in the middle of this. I'd say regardless of what you do to the
seat frame it'll be easier to fix or replace than your pan halves or rail
assemblies! Also try and get a look under there to make sure that the chrome
release knobs are actually releasing underneath.

I have the chrome adjusters bungeechorded to the handbrake.
Pounding with a wood block/mallet is just banging up my seat bases. I can
