OK, Ill tweak and post the longer but slower trip. And Ill also post my reconditioning your T3 FAQ to help with thoughts of what is needed to get your car ready for the trip. Keith Sorry to pipe in late...I'd love to joint the caravan-but I think that initial plan sounds too aggressive for me and my squareback. I'd vote for adding a day. I also am not sure my squareback will be ready in time for a big trip like that-I hope so. Or maybe if you guys give me a head start ;) Last invasion, I only made it about halfway. I hope to have given my squareback a more thorough review before the next big trip. Day 1 - Dearborn, MI to Russ Wolfe's place in Iowa. 610 miles Day 2 - Indianola, IA to Rawlins, WY. 794 miles Day 3 - Rawlins, WY to Boise, ID. 587 miles Day 4 - Boise, ID to Myrtle Creek, OR. 627 miles. Total Miles: 2618!!!!! One way! That 2nd day is a long one, but it is also just about as straight and flat as we will get and I think it is the same as when we went to ID in '02. I really don't have a problem at all making the days a bit shorter and adding a day to the trip.
