The key is to use a good high-quality paint, something that will stand up to heat and hot oil exposure, and that has good rust resistance. A good powder paint may do this, as will epoxy paints and catalyzed polyurethanes ( I've used Imron and Polane with good results.) These parts were originally glossy, or at least semi-gloss. > What about the greenish-grey duck egg colour on the FI manifold and upper heat > exchangers? Is there a good match for this? I haven't matched it, but I paint them a gloss grey now, simply because that's what I could find that was also durable. The original stuff wasn't very durable. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
