This is what I had proposed initially.

Day 1 - Dearborn, MI to Russ Wolfe's place in Iowa. 610 miles

Day 2 - Indianola, IA to Rawlins, WY. 794 miles

Day 3 - Rawlins, WY to Boise, ID. 587 miles

Day 4 - Boise, ID to Myrtle Creek, OR. 627 miles.

Total Miles: 2618!!!!! One way!

That 2nd day is a long one, but it is also just about as straight and 
flat as we will get and I think it is the same as when we went to ID in 
'02.

I really don't have a problem at all making the days a bit shorter and 
adding a day to the trip.
