I could pump up the mileage a bit on the return trip, but Russ's place is still on the map as a stopover going back, if youd really like I can see how that would work out but we have a time zone barrier going back... against us, but a downhill going for us... and day 1 out of the west coast is a bit gets us in Lakeview a bit late as it is. As for N Dakota... Ive driven across it, and if it weren't for groups like ACDC or Ozzy or Led Zeppelen I would have fallen asleep and found myself out in the middle of a grass field off the highway! The badlands are NORTH of the route across ND, getting across to the south is a menagerie of grassy hills in the west and flat nothingness in the east... Montana is nice but not till you get a ways west of N Dakota. We could try a S Dakota route, but as I recall last time Russ mentioned that it was pretty desolate too. Thoughts? Keith Might think about making the return trip a bit more brisk like we did in 2002. I am up for either one. We had some discussion about a more northerly, scenic route. Badlands, etc. Any thoughts on that Keith? I still may be leaving on Friday and stopping up at my folks place in northern MN for a few days and then hooking up with everyone at Russ' place. Kind of depends on what I do with my kids for those two weeks.
