With the appropriate cooling tin and stuff, the engine would fit no sweat. The transmission is another issue.


If the 412 is a 4-speed, you could do a lot of work to make it fit, but the gearing would suck. Also, the 411/412 stickshift is unique to those cars, parts are hard to come by, and if it works & drives it's worth good money to the right person.

If it's an automatic, the transmission portion is the same, but you'd want to swap the differential carrier for a Bus unit. The 411/412 auto trans is nearly identical to the T3 unit .. I think the CVs are the same but don't hold me to that.

Find a Bus tranny, grit your teeth and pay the money they're asking. You'll be better off in the long run.
