It's a fairly normal 3-speed automatic. They tend to be quite reliable. Just make sure that you check the ATF level occasionally, AND you MUST check the differential oil, which is different and can only be checked from below with a 17mm allen wrench. > Also, the car has dual carbs. If it's been switched over then it's a problem, unless they put on a set of the Solexs that were made for the type 3s. You can certainly get anything to work, but getting them to work well takes a lot of trial and error, and most people don't have the patience or the skills to work out all the problems. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
