Sorry, clumsy wording. Right, buy front axle parts from cars made 
after mid-68.

Ah, but yours DOES; you just need to study your Bentley manual a bit  
more.   ;-)

This is a common misconception, based on the assumption that the type 
3 front suspension is the same as the inferior beetle suspension.
