The 1776 will probably work with the FI, with some dinking around, but I don't think you'll find it very much improved. Skippy will probably still be with you. I'd start by trying to find the cause of the skipping (missing?) How's your gas mileage? Have you cleaned (but not filed) the FI trigger points? Dwell between 45 and 55 degrees? When does the skipping occur and could you describe skipping a bit? If it only occurs while cruising, then just unplug the throttle valve switch and drive it that way for a couple of days. If that makes it go away, replace the TVS.
