Set the Ohmmeter to read resistance on a high ohms scale and then flex the various wires while you watch the meter. Do this in all 6 combinations and polarity permutations. The Pertronix base plate is the 3rd terminal that gives you 6 combinations. Check the breaker plate ground braid, too. If it's broken, replace it with a short piece of desoldering braid. You'll have to take the dist and breaker plate apart to do this correctly. Clean it all up afterwards and regrease it. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
