I just bought my 71 SB about two months ago. The body, paint and interior were all in good, not fantastic shape. 
It looks like I'm going to have to have a new valve job done on the car, but otherwise it was in fairly good shape. The 
owner was asking $3200 for the car, and I bargained her down to $2650. 
Depending on where you live you might be able to get more, but $2000 seems fair.....
