Yes, this sounds correct for an MT type 3. > In the manuals diagrams this matches the 'fuel' section, but conflicts with > the full diagram that says the fuel relay should be connect to the voltage > supply relay as well. There's really no conflict, because I believe one of the wires in the special plug goes to the main power relay (under the back seat) while the other goes to the brain. > If it is the fuel pump relay, which I hope it is, is this the proper part: > > http://www.cip1.ca/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=BOS%2D0%2D332%2D019%2D150 This is a bit different from the originals, but it might work. I don't know if it will accept the special plug correctly, so some "rework" might be necessary. I have good used OE relays, but they would cost a bit more by the time they got to you in Canada. The way to check this is to see if you're getting full voltage on the output side of your fuel pump relay. Just what is the problem you're having, and what have you seen that makes you suspect the relay? -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
