Check a manual for a late Beetle. Use the torque that they spec for the engines with 8mm studs. It is LESS than the torque for 10mm studs.
Thanks. Just so happens I have a Bently for 1970-1975 Beetles.
3. Got new guides in the heads - they've come back with very narrow ex.valve
seats - only about 1.3mm width on the sealing surface. Is this too little? This
is a stock engine, and I don't want the exhaust valves overheating.
It's in the Bentley manual: 1.3-1.6mm.
That's for the inlets. Bentley says 1.7 to 2.0mm for exhaust, hence my concern.
