the overflow elbow is indeed cracked.

i was going to ask why that would leak since the hose leads right to the
top of the tank but first I looked up the capacity and it is only just
over 10 gallons. ah ha! both times it leaked like that i put nearly 10
gallons in there, and the left turns when the tank is full.

am i better to buy the elbow from cip1 or whoever it was (i have to look
back) or buy a length of fuel hose that can make the whole run from the
filler to the fuel tank?
im guessing vw used the elbow to make the turn and so they didnt have a
piece of fuel hose running through a bulkhead.
