It may just be missing, or there may be broken bits still stuck in the rod, which you will have to get out. The best way to get the old bits out is with a punch; the metal is hardened spring steel, so it is probably too hard to drill. You may have to take things apart to punch the pieces out, but there should be nothing that needs replacing other than the pin(s). You may be able to find suitable roll pins at your local hardware store. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
