Re: [T3] FW: Headlight switch

<x-flowed>On your 65 the switch has only one 58 terminal which feeds (through a plain white wire according to the wiring diagram ) to the 2 LH fuses, there's a joining bar on the fusebox. Each of these fuses feeds a rear light.
Incidentally, in the photo it looks as though the white wire that does this is on the terminal 58b and the thinner white with a red tracer is on 58. According to my wiring diagram these are the wrong way round. 58b should be the wire that feeds/dims the dash lights. Of course it may be my eyesight or my wiring diagram which are misleading me....

That's the right link and it looks just like the one here next to my keyboard. BTW, what's wrong with yours?

After an exhaustive search through all my wires I have concluded that a faulty switch is at the root of my rear parking lights not working. You might remmember me having a thread about this about a month ago.

The lower resistance just means that you won't be able to dim your dash lights as far.

That's ok. I've never understood why you need to turn them down. Making my dash lights into a night lite makes me sleepy anyhow ;-)

The one problem that I see is that the late switch only has 7 terminals, which seem to be quite different (30, 30, 56, 57, 58, 58b, X) compared to the old one here (30, 30, 30, 56, 57, 57, 58, 58b.)

I don't have my switch in front of me so I couldn't tell you. I'll check when I get home. I'm not sure but I think the two rear lights have seperate terminals.
