Type 4s and IRS type 2s used larger CV joints. Maybe for the Rabbits they 
decided it was unnecessary. My guess is that for most type 4 conversions it 
really wouldn't be necessary; it's only when you get into the real drastic 
stuff, or for drag racing, that it starts to become important.
