I've never heard that there's anything weak about the case. I thought the intermediate support actually supported the transmission, anyway, so whatever force would be on the case flange would be unchanged. > It also weighs more than a t-3 engine, so you need to do something > about it. It will certainly be heavier, so you might want to make sure that the body points that support the rear mounts are strong enough. I would expect the rear mount crossbar to be MUCH more able to take the engine torque than the close-in (small radius) mid support. Wearing out CV joints may be a real possibility, but that's a completely separate issue. If you want to combat that, you will have to buy type 4 stub axles, CV joints, and transmission output hubs. They're probably expensive, but there are people out there who sell them. Nothing you do regarding center mounts will have any effect on this. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
